AI Workspace

Isolated AI Workspace

AI Workspace lets supported GUI applications run in an isolated virtual desktop so AI workflows do not need to take over the user's normal desktop.

Separate from your normal desktop

AI Workspace provides a shared isolated virtual desktop with per-application session ownership. Multiple AI-owned app sessions can coexist within its bounded resource model.

  • Per-application session IDs
  • Window-scoped screenshots and actions
  • Short-lived semantic accessibility refs
  • Sensitive-field protection
  • No implicit duplicate app launches

Platform adapters

Linux uses a private AT-SPI environment for the isolated desktop. Windows UI Automation and macOS Accessibility adapters share the policy model, but native behavior should only be claimed where it has been validated on that operating system.

Choose an isolated GUI session

Use AI Workspace for a task that needs supported graphical applications in a separate virtual desktop. Start a session, open the required application and inspect that session’s screen/state before interacting.

Keep the session associated with the approved project. Use browser automation for browser-specific work and workspace file tools for direct file work when those surfaces are sufficient.

Verify the artifact after the GUI action

Saving through a graphical application still needs a confirmed output. Inspect the resulting file or application state, handle overwrite dialogs deliberately and check that the requested artifact was created.

Available adapters and isolation behavior differ by native platform; Linux remains the primary live-validated host.
