Installation

Install on macOS

Choose the Apple Silicon or Intel DMG and understand the current updater safety gate.

Guides follow the current project source. Check the release notes for your installed version.

Choose the correct DMG

  • Apple Silicon: RepoTunnel_0.4.1_aarch64.dmg
  • Intel: RepoTunnel_0.4.1_x64.dmg

Updater behavior

RepoTunnel supports update discovery on macOS, but in-app update installation is intentionally disabled until replacement/restore safety is verified. Install newer DMGs manually when required.

Command isolation

The current macOS AI command backend uses the Seatbelt sandbox-exec compatibility path and fails closed when the required sandbox cannot be used.

Install the selected DMG

Before opening the DMG, download the release’s checksum file and compute the package’s SHA-256 in Terminal from the download folder. Compare the full result with the checksum for that exact filename.

Determine whether your Mac uses Apple Silicon or Intel, download the corresponding official DMG, and open the packaged application using normal macOS installation steps.

The current macOS command sandbox uses the Seatbelt sandbox-exec compatibility backend. It may not expose the same native automation behavior as the primary Linux development platform.

Code
shasum -a 256 RepoTunnel_0.4.1_aarch64.dmg
Note

For an Intel Mac, use RepoTunnel_0.4.1_x64.dmg. Continue only when the full hash matches the official checksum file.

Updates and recovery

RepoTunnel can discover macOS updates, but in-app update installation is intentionally unavailable while verified replace-and-restore safety is incomplete. Follow official release instructions for manual DMG updates.

Do not override macOS protections or delete RepoTunnel application data just to troubleshoot an update. Preserving approved workspaces, settings and OAuth state is part of the release contract.
