Settings, updates and Help

Find runtime diagnostics, signed update controls, startup and history-retention settings, plus built-in guidance and keyboard shortcuts.

Guides follow the current project source. Check the release notes for your installed version.

Inspect the installation in Settings

Open Settings for Runtime diagnostics. Review the installed version, platform/architecture and availability of required tools before diagnosing an unavailable feature.

Refresh the diagnostics after changing the local setup. A missing optional tunnel client matters only if you use that transport; native sandbox availability matters when the task needs AI command execution.

Manage signed updates

Check for updates queries the official release channel. Automatic checks controls periodic discovery; an available release can show its notes and the Update & Restart action.

Save pending editor work and inspect the displayed installation-block reason before updating. macOS currently supports update discovery while in-app installation is disabled pending verified replacement/restore safety.

Choose startup behavior

Settings can enable or disable Launch at login. Starting the application and establishing a usable AI connection are separate states; inspect Gateway and Remote after startup.

The optional Secure MCP Tunnel Runtime API key is not persisted by RepoTunnel. Configured public providers have their own lifecycle and recovery behavior.

Set history and checkpoint retention

Review the configured limits for saved versions and checkpoints in Settings. These controls govern retained local recovery records rather than the files in your project.

History and Checkpoints also provide explicit clear/delete actions. Review those confirmations carefully when you still need an older recovery point.

Use Help for built-in guidance

Help explains approved projects, AI Auto/AI Review, the local security boundary, Git publishing and recovery. Its shortcut groups cover the workspace, editor and terminal.

Use the shortcut labels shown by your current app/platform. The source Help panel lists the following common actions.

  • Ctrl+P: Quick Open; Ctrl+Shift+P: Command Palette; Ctrl+Shift+F: Search Project.
  • Ctrl+S: save; Ctrl+F: find in file; Ctrl+G: go to line.
  • Ctrl+Shift+T: reopen a closed tab; Ctrl+Shift+Enter: Focus Mode.
  • Terminal Enter: run a command; Ctrl+Enter: start a managed process.
  • Terminal Ctrl+F: search output; Ctrl+L: clear displayed terminal content.
